As an undergraduate, I majored in English and Journalism NOT
because I wanted to be a reporter, but because I wanted to learn
a different way to write.
As a graduate student, I
began with a focus on nonfiction, but I switched to fiction
because I wanted to learn a different way to tell stories.
As a columnist, I write
articles that relate true anecdotes that read like great
narratives.
In business writing, I
use all of my skills to represent my clients in the best
possible way-- with clear, concise messages that get a positive
result.
As a professor, I create
an environment that stimulates and serves as many students as
possible. I want each individual to discover a way to write that
is meaningful and useful.
Bottom line: I love to
write. I believe it is the most important thing
that anyone can learn.
